Best Saab Fleet Who holds bragging rights to the “Best Saab Fleet in North America”? A knowledgeable panel of experts will recognize the top three at this year’s convention. Many Saab enthusiasts pride themselves in having, not just one, but many Saabs in their garage or on their driveway. But what makes a collection, or fleet, the best? We suspect elements of a winning entry to include variety and rarity of models, visual condition, and certainly photographic presentation. Since the transport of multiple vehicles to SOC can be near impossible, even when you reside close to the venue, this provides an avenue for you to participate in an expanded way, even for those who cannot attend. Select Your Best. Entries may contain three (3) to five (5) vehicles (all Saabs of course!) and must be accompanied by an entry form. Please review the contest rules and submit materials as follows: 1. Create your own photo display board (no larger than 20” x 30”) and bring it to the convention... or 2. Send photos of your fleet with titles and captions. We’ll prepare a standardized display board for the convention (for this option, materials must be received no later than July 30th).
In keeping with SOC tradition, a photography contest will be held with the following categories: Car Portrait, Impressionistic, and Snapshot. Awards will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners as determined by popular vote. Contest ballots will be included with registration materials. Submissions of your Saab themed photo (3”x5” to 8”x10” in size) will be accepted at the event check-in and are limited to one entry per category, per registrant. 2009 North American Saab Owner's Convention
This year the annual convention will be held from August 13 to August 16 at the beautiful Copper Mountain Resort in Frisco, Colorado. The event will be hosted by the Rocky Mountain Saab Club in conjunction with the Saab Club of North America, the Vintage SAAB Club of North America and Saab USA.

HERE! 2009 Colorado Rocky Mountain Tour -- Saabs Run the Rockies
You are invited to join Saab enthusiasts from all over the world in touring the Colorado Rocky Mountains during the five days following the 2009 Saab Owners Convention in Colorado, hosted by the Rocky Mountain Saab Club.
The tour will span August 17 through 21, 2009, and will start with a tour check-in meeting at the convention site at 8:00 am on the 17th. Tour details will be provided upon registration.
Many Colorado scenic areas will be visited, including Trail Ridge Road in the Rocky Mountain National Park, reaching an elevation of 12,183 ft. Using various side excursions, you may see world famous ski areas, including Aspen, Snowmass, Vail, and Telluride. Enjoy Colorado's four national parks; the world's largest outdoor hot springs swimming pool with its large water slide and soaking pool; explore ancient Anasazi Indian cliff dwellings; ride a scenic route on a turn of the century narrow gauge railroad; see beautiful canyons, picturesque mountain lakes, old mining towns (have you heard of Baby Doe), Colorado's own version of the Grand Canyon and our "Little Switzerland"; and experience the beauty of various spectacular highway segments like "The Million Dollar Highway". The tour will be capped off by a banquet dinner on the last night.
Come and join us by filling out the attached registration form. Upon registering, you will be provided an 'Accommodation List' of the overnight lodging in each of the five overnight locations so that you may make your own individual overnight plans and reservations, plus a list of driving and traveling tips to prepare yourself for Colorado's mountain touring. Your registration fee will also include a Tour Book detailing each day's map segments, directions, points of interest, and mileage, plus a tour related T-shirt, a personalized pin-on button, and car number decals. These items will be available at the tour check-in. Tour fees for the car driver and any other occupants are shown on the registration form. These fees are separate from the convention fees.

San Diego Volvo Sports America - Annual Temecula Wine Country Tour
On March 2, 2008 join the Volvo guys on their annual trip to Temecula wine country. Meet at the Mobil gas station on Temecula Parkway/Highway 79 South at 10:00 AM and start the tour at 10:30. Three wineries are on the agenda, with a picnic lunch at the last one, finishing up around 2:00 PM.

San Diego SAAB Owner's Group holds its first gathering of 2002!
On January 26, 2002 the SDSOG held a two-part gathering, sponsored in part by the folks at Marvin K. Brown Auto Center. The morning session was held at MKB with a complimentary breakfast, lots of test drives and some very generous door prizes. The afternoon had us up at the Deer Park Winery and Auto Museum where we had lunch, talked SAABs and toured the amazing and eclectic stash of vintage cars.
